Solventum 3M Red Dot with Foam Tape and Sticky Gel Monitoring Electrode 4 x 3.5cm 50 Pack 2560 Disposable, single-use electrodes intended for ECG monitoring by healthcare professionals. Their pressure-sensitive adhesive is recommended for patients who perspire heavily.

Product Features and Materials Each electrode measures 4cm x 3.5cm and has a foam tape backing, sticky conductive gel, pressure-sensitive adhesive, metal snap connector and silver/silver chloride sensing element. It is not pre-wired.
How to Use
  • Select and prepare the electrode site according to the healthcare facility protocol for ECG monitoring or diagnostic procedures.
  • Ensure the site is clean, dry and free of skin oil. Clip heavy or curly hair that cannot be parted.
  • Include skin impedance reduction in the skin preparation and use 3M Red Dot Trace Prep.
  • Attach the lead wire, then remove the electrode from its liner without touching the adhesive surface.
  • Centre the electrode on the prepared site and smooth it down in a circular motion. Do not press the centre of the electrode.
  • To remove it, slowly lift from the edge while folding the electrode back on itself and supporting the skin underneath.
Caution & Storage
  • This product is intended for ECG monitoring of adults by healthcare professionals.
  • For single use only. Do not reuse.
  • The metal snap connector has not been tested for use during MRI procedures. Conductive patient-connected devices, lead wires and electrodes may cause serious burns during MRI. If a physician orders use during MRI, do not allow loops in the patient lead wires or let the lead wires contact the patient's skin.
  • Do not use an electrode if the gel is dry or the gel column has become dislodged. Replace the electrode if it no longer adheres firmly to the skin.
  • Do not apply an electrode to irritated skin. Do not abrade the same site more than once. Avoid frequent removal or reapplication at the same site, and do not apply an electrode to skin that is still wet from alcohol. Assess electrode sites periodically.
  • During surgical procedures, place ECG electrodes as far as possible from the electrosurgical area to reduce the risk of burns at the electrode site.
  • Use the electrodes within 45 days after opening. Keep unused electrodes in the opened pouch.
  • Check the expiry date on the package. Do not use the product if the package is damaged or open.
  • Dispose of the contents and packaging in accordance with applicable local regulations.
