Ingredients and Materials
Each sterile pad is made from a knitted cotton gauze base impregnated with petrolatum (paraffin). There are no added antiseptics in standard paraffin gauze dressings. How to Use
- Perform hand hygiene and cleanse the wound per clinical guidance.
- Open the sterile pack and place the paraffin-impregnated side directly over the wound (paraffin side toward the wound).
- Cover with an appropriate secondary absorbent dressing or bandage to secure in place.
- Change dressing as directed by a healthcare professional. Paraffin gauze is designed for gentle removal; if resistance is felt, moisten the dressing before removal.
- For heavy exudate, use an absorbent secondary dressing. Do not reuse; dispose after single use.
