Opsite IV 3000 100mm x 120mm – Transparent IV Dressing (1 Unit)

Opsite IV 3000 is a sterile, transparent polyurethane film dressing designed for secure IV catheter fixation and continuous site observation. The breathable, waterproof film creates a bacterial barrier while the gentle acrylic adhesive conforms to body contours to reduce dislodgement and improve patient comfort. Ideal for hospital, clinic and homecare IV access protection.

Key benefits

  • Secure IV catheter fixation to reduce accidental dislodgement and improve line stability.
  • Transparent polyurethane film allows continuous visual inspection of venepuncture and catheter sites without removal.
  • Breathable, microporous film reduces moisture build-up and risk of maceration.
  • Waterproof barrier protects the site from external contaminants and allows showering while dressing is in place.
  • Hypoallergenic, gentle acrylic adhesive minimises skin irritation and is suitable for sensitive skin.
  • Conformable and flexible to maintain a secure seal on difficult-to-dress areas.
  • Sterile, single-use dressing supports infection control and reduces dressing changes.
  • Long wear time—can remain in place up to 7 days or per local clinical protocol, reducing dressing changes and staff time.
Ingredients and Materials

Opsite IV 3000 is constructed from a thin, transparent polyurethane film backing with a hypoallergenic acrylic adhesive. The dressing is sterile, single-use and contains a silicone-coated release liner for ease of application. Materials are selected to provide a breathable, waterproof bacterial barrier while maintaining skin-friendly adhesion.

How to Use
  1. Perform hand hygiene and prepare the IV insertion site according to local protocol.
  2. Ensure the skin is clean, dry and free of oils or lotions. Remove excess hair if required.
  3. Open the sterile package and remove the release liner from the Opsite IV 3000 dressing.
  4. Position the dressing so the catheter hub and insertion site are centred within the transparent film.
  5. Smooth the dressing from the centre outward to achieve a secure seal and avoid wrinkles.
  6. Monitor the insertion site through the transparent film; replace the dressing if it becomes loose, soiled or per facility protocol (up to 7 days maximum or as directed by clinical guidelines).
  7. Dispose of the dressing as clinical waste after single use.
Who It’s For

Opsite IV 3000 is suitable for healthcare professionals and caregivers in hospitals, outpatient clinics, emergency departments, dialysis units and homecare settings who require a reliable, sterile transparent dressing for peripheral IV catheters, venepuncture sites and short-term infusion access. It is appropriate for adult and paediatric patients where a secure, visible, waterproof dressing is required.

Caution & Storage

Caution: For external use only. Do not use on infected wounds or where clinical signs of infection are present without medical supervision. Check for known sensitivity to adhesive materials before application. Remove gently to reduce skin trauma—support adjacent skin during removal. Single use only; discard after removal. Follow local clinical guidelines for dressing changes and catheter care.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep in original packaging until time of use. Observe the manufacturer's expiry date and hospital infection control policies.
