This sterile dressing tray typically contains: sterile peel-packed tray, pair of sterile medium gloves (nitrile or latex variants depending on product code), medium stainless-steel forceps, sterile gauze swabs (various sizes), sterile adhesive dressing(s), sterile drape, sterile saline ampoule, antiseptic prep swabs, cotton applicators and a disposable waste pouch. 1. Follow your facility’s standard infection control and aseptic technique guidelines.
2. Perform hand hygiene and open the sterile pouch without contaminating the contents.
3. Don the medium sterile gloves provided, prepare the wound with the antiseptic swab and saline as required.
4. Use the included medium forceps to remove old dressings and place fresh sterile gauze or adhesive dressings.
5. Dispose of used items in appropriate clinical waste containers and document the dressing change.
