Ingredients and Materials
Composed of Hydrofiber (sodium carboxymethylcellulose) matrix with ionic silver (silver-containing antimicrobial), produced as a sterile, non-adhesive wound pad. Backing/secondary dressing required to secure. Single-use, sterile until packaging is opened.
How to Use
- Cleanse wound according to local protocols and pat dry surrounding skin.
- Open sterile pouch and apply AQUACEL Ag+ Extra pad directly onto wound bed, gel forms on contact with exudate.
- Cover with an appropriate secondary dressing to secure and provide absorption capacity as needed.
- Change dressing based on wound exudate, clinical assessment or manufacturer guidance—commonly up to 7 days unless saturated or per clinician direction.
- Discard after single use. Do not reuse.
Who It’s For
Intended for healthcare professionals and patients managing moderate-to-high exuding wounds: surgical wounds, leg and foot ulcers (including diabetic foot ulcers), pressure ulcers, partial-thickness burns, donor/recipient sites and other acute or chronic wounds requiring antimicrobial and high-absorbency dressing.
Caution & Storage
Cautions: Do not use if known allergy to silver, carboxymethylcellulose or dressing components. Not intended for dry wounds where moisture is limited. Monitor for signs of sensitivity or delayed healing. Use under clinical supervision for heavily bleeding wounds or where infection risk is high. Follow local clinical guidance for use in pregnant or breastfeeding patients and for pediatric cases.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Keep packaging sealed until use. Do not freeze. Single sterile use—dispose of used dressings as clinical waste following local regulations.
